This initiative empowers farmers—especially women entrepreneurs—through training and sustainable orchid cultivation in Ri-Bhoi, a region renowned for its rich biodiversity. By integrating floriculture and apiculture with tourism, it invites visitors to explore vibrant orchid farms and experience the serene beauty of Dendrobium and Vanda orchids, cherished for their medicinal and cultural value. These exotic blooms, in shades from delicate white to deep purple, flourish during spring and monsoon, offering a magical, nature-filled escape. About Vendor

Launched in April 2023 under the BIRAC-IBSD-BRDC women entrepreneurship initiative in Ri-Bhoi district, this agri-innovation project cultivates 12,000 Dendrobium orchids and supports 10 SHG groups with 5,000 orchids each. It includes floriculture (chrysanthemums, lilies, gladiolus), apiculture with over 450 Apis cerana and stingless bees, and small-scale coffee and cardamom farming. The integrated farm also houses diverse animals and birds, promoting biodiversity and sustainable rural livelihoods in Meghalaya.
