I joined this tour recently and it was very meaningful experience for me. The village is very peaceful, with bamboo houses and gardens, and the guide explain clearly how Eri silkworms are raised and how the silk is made in traditional way.
The best part for me is seeing the production house and then eating local meal with the community, it feels very homely and authentic. Price also feel fair at mysatkara for full-day program, and basic facilities like toilet and parking are available, so it is comfortable even for first-time visitor. This tour is good if you want to learn slow, sustainable lifestyle and support local women artisans in Meghalaya.

As you walk through the village, you’ll see traditional homes made of bamboo and wood, surrounded by lush gardens, betel nut trees, and patches of castor plants—the primary food for Eri silkworms.
